ReadStar2 ("the App") is a children's early-reading and phonics app developed by Ronnie Reyes ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

ReadStar2 is designed to collect as little data as possible. Specifically:

• Microphone / Speech Audio: The App uses your device's microphone and Apple's on-device Speech Recognition (SFSpeechRecognizer) to evaluate spoken words during reading exercises. Audio is processed locally on the device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or any other personally identifiable information.
• No User Accounts: The App does not require account creation or login.
• No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

2. How We Use Information

Speech audio captured during reading exercises is used solely to provide real-time feedback within the App. It is not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose.

App progress (stars earned, words learned, books unlocked) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS data storage. This data never leaves your device.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ReadStar2 is designed for children under the age of 13. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
• We do not share any data with third parties for advertising or profiling.
• All speech processing occurs entirely on-device via Apple's framework.
• The App contains no in-app advertising, social features, or links to external websites accessible to children.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

4. California Privacy (CalOPPA)

Under CalOPPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and whether it is disclosed to third parties. ReadStar2 does not collect personal information and does not share any data with third parties. There is nothing to disclose.

5. Apple's Data Practices

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect certain usage and diagnostic data as part of their standard platform services. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

6. Data Security

Because we do not collect or transmit user data, there is no data at risk on our end. All app data (progress, settings) resides solely on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in security.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
